Wildspire
Terms of use
This page is an outline, not the finished document. It sets out the sections this policy needs and the questions each one has to answer. It is not legal advice and it is not yet in force. The page is noindex until the real text replaces it.
The rules for using Wildspire, for aspiring authors and for the grown-ups who look after them.
Who can use Wildspire
The minimum age, what a guardian has to agree to, and how a school account differs from a family one.
Your stories stay yours
The writer keeps the copyright in everything they make. What licence Wildspire needs in order to display it, and what happens to that licence when an account closes.
What may not be published
The rules on content, and — specific to this site — the rule that no real name, school, address, phone number or face may appear in a story, a pen name or a picture.
Pen names
Why everything is published under one, that it may not be changed to impersonate somebody, and that we may change one that does.
Suspending an account
What gets an account paused, who decides, and how to appeal it.
Closing an account
How a writer or a guardian closes one, what is deleted, and what is kept and for how long.
Changes to these terms
How notice is given, and what counts as accepting them.
Who to ask in the meantime
Until this is written, anything on this page is best asked about directly — see contact. Parents and carers may also want what is public, and what is not, which describes how the site actually behaves today.
